About Us. |
Our TeamThe Waltham RoboHawks (FTC team #10560) is starting its 8th year as a team competing in the First Tech Challenge League. We are a team that truly reflects the diversity we have at Waltham High School. We are also a young team, with over half of our members currently in the ninth and tenth grade. The team has been overwhelmed with the growing interest and excitement for robotics brought by new students. This year's challenge offers some new problems to solve and some new strategy considerations for our team members. You can see the challenge video on our homepage or on the FTC YouTube Channel.

First Tech Challenge FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) was founded in 1989 to inspire young people's interest and participation in science and technology. Based in Manchester, NH, the 501(c)(3) not-for-profit public charity designs accessible, innovative programs that motivate young people to pursue education and career opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and math, while building self-confidence, knowledge, and life skills.

The Students Students are responsible for nearly all aspects of the team. They will need to decide how to construct, wire, and program the robot. They'll also need to make group decisions on what game elements to work on, how to work with an "alliance partner" in matches, and how to communicate their process and design to judges.
